The interior design Site Analysis and Programming Checklist template is an organizer for collecting job site information in a handy spreadsheet format.
This document will help you stay organized when gathering information at the beginning of a design or construction project. This checklist aims to supplement your existing conditions plan set or sketch. Whether you use CAD or pen and paper to sketch the components of the building, this will help you remember the many details one needs to record and a place to record them.
The template is also adaptable to modify or add as much of your own information as needed.

There are three tabs to this template: Existing conditions, a client questionnaire, and codes tabs.
The existing conditions tab gives you a blank schedule to input details about rooms such as room name, ceiling height, ceiling material, floor material, square footage, and notes.

Below is a door and window schedule to track data like room, key, width, height, material, hinge/swing, and notes. The key is for a symbol or alphanumerical code that you place on your existing conditions sketch.
There is also a schedule to take inventory of existing furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
After the schedules, there is a checklist to remember items to note on your existing conditions plan. Feel free to modify with as much as your relevant project information as needed.

The client questionnaire features a simple question-and-answer format. The text will wrap to fill in the space, but as more space is needed, simply expand the row height. Again, feel free to add your own desired client questions.

Finally, there is a codes tab to gather information about your design and construction project such as building occupancy, construction type, fire rating, applicable building codes, local regulatory jurisdictions, and zoning.
The outside consultants' section gives you a place to save the contact info of those involved in the project.
